Uttarakhand is a state in
northern India crossed by the Himalayas and is full of biodiversity, this state
is well known for its tourist places and mainly recognized for its Hindu
pilgrimage sites, it is often referred as the Devbhoomi meaning “land of gods”.
One of them is “Sidhbali temple”, it is situated in the town ‘Kotdwara’ of
Pauri Garhwal district at a distance of 210 kms from Delhi, and 76 kms from Haridwar.
It is 2 kms away from the heart of the town. It’s very easy to reach the temple
by hiring auto or taxi.
Sidhbali temple is
dedicated to lord hanuman; large number of devotees comes from different parts
of the country to get the blessings of lord hanuman. It is located at the
entangled at foot of “Khoh river” of Kotdwara, scenic surrounding and hill
forest at the backdrop of the temple make Sidhbali more attractive.
Sidhbali temple is painted
in deep orange color, the temple had once got broken nearly one-third of it
because of a landslide which happened a few years ago, people believe that, at
time hanuman ji had himself given support to the structure of the temple
through his soldiers. It stands at the top of the town and is an “icon of the
city”.
So many saints have done meditation
here for a decent period of time like ‘Baba Sitaram Ji’,’Baba Narayan Das Ji’ and
many others. As per historians saint siddha used to meditate here in the 14th
century who is still worshipped as siddha of this place.
Siddhbali dham is a place where
devotees come throughout the year to praying. Every year “Shree Sidhbali Baba
Varshik Anusthan Mela” is held in December month. Today the number of pilgrims
has crossed one lakh mark. Sidhbali is becoming one of the most visited holy places,
not only for Kotdwara people, but also for the people from all parts of the
country who come here in this Devbhoomi.
